GAME PLAY:
- Each game is played in conjunction with National Mah Jongg League Rules. Four games constitute one round.
- You are allotted fifty minutes to complete one round of four games. If the fourth game is not completed within the designated time, each player receives a zero for the fourth game.
- The first Charleston is required; the second Charleston is optional. An optional "across" of one, two, or three tiles is allowed after the final Charleston.
- If you steal a tile you may not look at it. If you look at it, you will be penalized ten points at the end of that game.
- Please, no picking ahead! Player picks before discarding. You will be declared “Dead” for picking ahead.
- Please pay attention - do not go out of turn or you will be declared "dead".
- Player may call last discarded tile for Mah Jongg or an exposure if the next pick has not been "racked". Once the next pick is "racked" the discarded tile is no longer in play.
- When calling a tile you must place it on top of our rack, not in your rack. This pertains to calling for an exposure and calling for Mah Jongg. Call a tile and place it in your rack and you will be declared "dead" !
- When declaring Mah Jongg, the hand must be displayed as it appears on the National Mah Jongg League Card if a player asks you to do so.
- If a player who has been playing an exposed hand calls Mah Jongg or exposes in error, any exposure made before the error stay exposed and the Jokers are still in play.
- If a concealed hand is incorrectly exposed for Mah Jongg the hand is "dead" and tiles must be returned to rack. A “dead” hand gets a score of zero for that game. Player with "dead" hand does not pick or discard.
- If you think a hand is "dead," declare it "dead". However, if you declare a hand "dead" in error, then your hand is "dead." A “dead” hand gets a score of zero for that game. Player with "dead" hand does not pick or discard.
- If Mah Jongg is called, please do not display your hand until the Mah Jongg is verified!
- If Mah Jongg is called in error and two or more hands are intact, game continues.
